Downies Coins was established 1932 and the Sydney retail store has operated out of the Town Hall Square shopping precinct for more than 20 years. 

The store's manager, Steve Troha, is an avid collector with more than 8 years' experience. David Jobson, Downies resident Senior Numismatist with more than 15 years industry experience, also operates out of the Sydney store. The store specialises in buying and selling modern decimal issues, predecimal coins and banknotes, gold and silver bullion, rarities, and error coins and varieties.
